April 22, 2017, Earth Day
Two blocks from my studio at Cal Anderson Park, was the March for Science Protest in Capitol Hill. As I drove to work thinking about the composition of this piece in my head, it was uplifting to see so many people carrying signs and marching peacefully. Last year, on this day, I painted a magnificent tree in my neighborhood.
Inspired by water in its several beautiful states, this piece was a labor of love.
Trying out new techniques with resin on a substrate this large was challenging but incredibly rewarding all at once.
